Jamie Sailor
AN EQUESTRIAN
Horses have always been a part of Jamie's life. Her mom, Jody, had horses of her own and rode when she was pregnant so Jamie's love for horses began at an early age. Originally starting in western pleasure at her family's Stoney Point Ranch, when she was 6, Jamie quickly realized she liked the adrenaline rush of showjumping.
At 9 years old she purchased her first show jumper under the training of Mike Edrick and that’s when her career began. Growing up, Jamie had extensive opportunities catch riding and competing in hunters, jumpers and equitation throughout her entire junior career. During that time she maintained her love for western and owned a reining mare. Concurrently, Jamie began driving and competing miniature horses in her early teenage years. Jamie's western mare named Babe and her 2 minis, Becky and JJ, are currently retired and living their best life in her backyard in Moorpark, California.
After riding with Mike Edrick throughout her junior career, Jamie was offered a job as a professional rider at 18 and continued to work for Mike for 11 years. 20 years of learning from a well known trainer gave Jamie the opportunity to work for one of the elite barns in Los Angeles , Meadow Grove Farm, following her time with mike Edrick. Here she gained 2 more years of incredible experience training, developing younger horses, and competing. In 2022, Jamie set off to establish her own business and journey developing young horses for the future sport. Her passion for bringing the most potential out of a horse and bringing it up in the ranks led to the creation of Sailor Sport Horses.
